What is RYLA?

From Rotary.org:

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive leadership experience organized by Rotary clubs and districts where you develop your skills as a leader while having fun and making connections.

What are the benefits?

Connect with leaders in your community and around the world to:

  • Build communication and problem-solving skills

  • Discover strategies for becoming a dynamic leader in your school or community

  • Learn from community leaders, inspirational speakers, and peer mentors

  • Unlock your potential to turn motivation into action

  • Have fun and form lasting friendships

What’s involved?

RYLA 7490 is an experiential leadership training program for high school juniors entering their senior year of high school from Bergen, Hudson & Passaic Counties. RYLA 2023 is scheduled for Sunday, June 25 through Wednesday, June 28 at Happiness is Camping in Hardwick Township, NJ.

At RYLA, students hone their leadership potential, develop creative problem-solving strategies, and learn ethical business practices in addition to many other leadership lessons.

How can I participate?

RYLA participants are nominated and sponsored by local Rotary clubs. Contact your local Rotary club to find out more about its specific procedures, and utilize this website for District-wide RYLA information!
